Volatus Group BVLOS Waiver Approved for Censys Sentaero

PENDLETON, Ore. & DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – May 23, 2022 – PRLog — Volatus Group’s UAS training center request to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Site (BVLOS) operations and training at the Pendleton UAS range was approved via a waiver granted by the FAA.   As one of Censys’s OEM-certified trainers, their customers will now be able to “train how they fight” as BVLOS operations grow in importance in the Western US and globally.

Volatus Group conducts commercial and government UAS training at Pendleton’s UAS range for a variety of customers as well as on behalf of Blue Mountain Community College’s UAS program.  The vast Pendleton UAS Range serves as base for multiple companies performing UAS development and testing as well as for BMCC’s UAS program.  BMCC was designated a partner in the FAA’s UAS Collegiate Training Initiative and offers UAS professional development courses featuring the Sentaero.

Produced by Censys Technologies, the Sentaero UAS is used by commercial, government, and education customer throughout the US.  The Sentaero’s capabilities in line of site and the rapidly growing BVLOS operations make it ideal for prospective UAS students.  Volatus Group conducts initial and advanced training to certify Censys Sentaero customers following initial purchase and during follow-on support.  The Volatus BVLOS waiver will serve as a key training resource for these Censys customers.

As noted by the Economic Development Director for the City of Pendleton, Steve Chrisman, “the Sentaero coupled with realistic BVLOS training at the Pendleton range will serve as an invaluable resource in the Western US and beyond!”  Trevor Perrot, CEO of Censys, echoed these comments noting “the teamwork shown by Censys, Volatus, and the Pendleton UAS Range was instrumental in securing the BVLOS waiver.  With great industry partners, anything is possible in the future.”
