US will block Iran’s proliferation of missiles and drones ev…

The United States has the means to continue to pressure Iran beyond this month’s restrictions on the country’s purchase and sale of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. This will happen in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolution.

This was stated at a briefing by Deputy Representative of the US State Department Vedant Patel. He noted that this resolution is not the only tool for responding to the issue.

“We still have a number of tools at our disposal to hold Iran accountable for its dangerous development and proliferation of missile and drone technologies,” a State Department spokesman said.

He emphasized that UN Security Council Resolution 2231, ending this month, with restrictions on Iran, is not the only tool for responding to Tehran’s malicious activity.

“We have our own sanctions powers, we have export controls, bilateral and multilateral obligations,” Patel explained.

According to him, the United States has introduced effective restrictions against networks and individuals covered by UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

“And we will continue to use our own sanctions capabilities to hold the Iranian regime accountable,” a US State Department spokesman said.
