European Drone Forum – DRONELIFE

European Drone ForumAt this week’s INTERGEO conference in Essen, Germany, the international drone industry was there to represent their importance in the mapping and GIS sphere.  DRONELIFE met Michael Wieland of the European Drone Forum: the next meeting place for the European drone industry, taking place this year in Cologne Germany November 7 -8.

The European Drone Forum is more than 10 years old, and designed to help its members grow their businesses and better serve their customers by partnering with other companies and the government organizations that regulate them.

The European Drone Forum will present upcoming regulations, reports on operational experiences, and the challenges and opportunities facing the drone industry in Europe today.  The show is presented in cooperation with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport.

Over 1.5 days, attendees will get ample time to discuss unmanned aviation and the essential needs of an industry on the verge of a breakthrough and struggling with requirements, lack of standards and regulations. On top of it, all on-site will be invited to expand their personal network at the social gathering after the first day.

“The conference includes many of the key regulators for the EU, ” says Wieland.  “Hearing and working with these regulators help the government and private enterprise partnership to be all the more effective.”
