RYZE Tech, Marvel & Disney Launch Tello Iron Man Edition

DJI’s local partner Ryze Tech has made a name for itself as a manufacturer of drones that are ideal for beginners and well-suited to` educational purposes.

The original Tello launched last year with technological backing from Intel and DJI. The result was a highly capable but incredibly affordable little drone. The Tello was revamped at the end of 2018 in the form of the Tello EDU, a model focused specifically on the ed-tech market.

With 2019 well underway, Ryze Tech is back with another revamp, both in terms of branding and functionality. This time the startup has collaborated with Marvel and Disney to launch the Tello Iron Man Edition. The new model has a fresh coat of paint inspired by the iconic Iron Man armor and a new flight control app featuring the AI assistant, FRIDAY.

The new product is part of a promotional push for the latest Marvel Avengers movie out later this month. The Tello Iron Man Edition will be sold in the United States, Canada and Europe.

New Tello Flight App Features Iron Man’s FRIDAY

Just as Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit is accompanied by AI system FRIDAY, the new Tello Hero application includes its own version of the assistant to teach the fundamental skills of flying.

Designed to help you learn the basics, the FRIDAY system guides you through training missions as a new recruit of ‘Stark Industries’ PILOT program’, with voice instructions for each mission: basic flying techniques, camera operation, intelligent flight modes and more.

The drone can be flown manually or programmed to fly custom flight paths and manoeuvres, using coding languages such as Scratch, Swift and Python.

Tello Iron Man Edition: Tech Specs

Tello Iron Man Edition includes DJI’s flight control technology, which means stable flying and plenty of interesting autonomous modes.

The Iron Man themed drone has an HD camera and can snap 5-megapixel photos and 720p video while streaming to a mobile device. One button modes include EZ shot, 360° Video and Circle. There are also pre-programmed 8-Direction Flips and the ability to Throw & Go.

In terms of safety, Tello Iron Man comes with soft propellers, propeller guards, a collision detection system and low battery protection features.

Tello Iron Man: Price and Availability

Tello Iron Man edition is available in the DJI store and from official retail partners in United States, Canada and across Europe. Its retail price is a very reasonable $129/€139/£129.

Each Tello Iron Man Edition box comes with one Tello Iron Man Edition drone, two sets of spare propellers, one battery and a USB charging cable. For expanded control, Tello is also compatible with the GameSir T1d Bluetooth remote, which is sold separately and is available for purchase in the DJI online store.
