The Anzu Raptor is a US company’s drone built on licensed DJI Mavic 3 hardware. It’s priced at $5,100, or $7,600 for the thermal Raptor T. It targeted enterprise and public safety buyers who wanted a data-secure alternative to DJI, though Anzu discontinued the line in February 2026 due to component shortages. Even while it was on sale, Anzu said the Raptor wasn’t automatically NDAA compliant, since the Raptor T’s thermal sensor has Chinese-sourced components.
What is the Anzu Raptor, exactly?
It’s a drone built through a licensing agreement with DJI, based on the Mavic 3 Enterprise platform. Anzu Robotics developed it to satisfy geopolitical and cybersecurity concerns that come with buying DJI hardware directly. It still aims to deliver comparable performance.
How do its specs compare to the DJI Mavic 3?
The Raptor matches the Mavic 3 closely: 45-minute flight time, a 9-mile range, and a 4/3 CMOS 20MP wide-angle camera. It also carries 56x hybrid zoom. The Raptor T adds a 1/2-inch 48MP and 12MP camera pairing with a 640×512 thermal imaging payload. It also carries the same 56x hybrid zoom.
What does it cost?
The standard Raptor is priced at $5,100. The thermal Raptor T runs $7,600 in the US.
Is it actually NDAA compliant?
Not automatically, and Anzu is upfront about that. NDAA rules focus on the country of origin for various components. The Raptor does have Chinese-sourced parts, including the thermal sensor on the Raptor T. Anzu’s own guidance is direct: organizations that require strict NDAA compliance need a waiver process based on ownership, software, and data security practices. Without one, the Raptor may not be the right product.
Is the Raptor still for sale?
No. Anzu discontinued the Raptor line in February 2026, citing component shortages that stalled production. The company pointed partly to a demand spike tied to buyer behavior around the 2025 NDAA. Founder and CEO Randall Warnas, who previously helped launch DJI Enterprise and held roles at FLIR Systems and Autel Robotics, says Anzu will pivot to a next-generation product built for new commercial and regulatory demands. No timeline or specs have been released.
