FAA Drone Safety Day is Saturday, June 18: FlyRIGHT

FAA Drone Safety DayThe 2022 FAA Drone Safety Day is this Saturday, June 18: an opportunity for everyone in the drone industry to ensure that the skies continue to open for all.

As the use of drones continues to expand, regulatory authorities like the FAA have worked to ensure that all fliers know the rules.  More than 800,000 drones have been registered: over 260,000 Remote Pilots have been certified.  Recreational flyers not engaging in Part 107 training, however, still have rules to follow and work to do before they can fly legally.

All drone pilots benefit when the rules are followed and basic safety protocol is observed.  Public opinion is critical to expanding drone operations across the country, and to enabling advanced air mobility and the operations of the future.  To help get the word out, the FAA has organized a National Drone Safety Awareness Week each year from 2019 through 2021, to leverage the power of the drone community to educate all flyers. This year, the FAA is hosting ONE Drone Safety Day: this weekend, June 18.

Find out how you can get involved, find events or host a Drone Safety Day event.
