Call for tourism players to adopt tech

KOTA KINABALU: Local tourism players should support the upcoming Sabah Chinese Economic Conference which focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drone technology, says Sabah Tourism Board chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai (pic).

Bangkuai, who is also state Assistant Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister, said the conference was an opportunity for tourism players to embrace cutting-edge technology that holds immense promise for the state’s tourism industry.

Bangkuai said this after a meeting with the Sabah Chinese Economic Conference organising committee.

The organisers had briefed him on the event’s objective of exploring emerging technologies that could revolutionise businesses and government agencies.

The group also explained how drones can be utilised for conducting search and rescue operations.

The conference will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre on Aug 23.
