ECSU to host inaugural Drone Expo

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — A new program at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) aims to help small businesses and other organizations reach new heights.

ECSU’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program is hosting its inaugural Drone Expo.

Organizers say the expo seeks to increase awareness about how UAS can be used by small businesses, law enforcement agencies, local and state government officials, community colleges, schools, and the public.

Additionally, middle and high school students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields will an opportunity to learn about potential careers options. 

“This event is another opportunity to involve the community and open ourselves up to inquiries about our programming and the wealth of this industry,” said Kuldeep Rawat, ECSU dean of the School of Science, Aviation, Health and Technology.  

The event takes place Friday, March 22 at 8:30 a.m. at the White Graduate Center, UAS Pavilion, 1862 Edgewood Drive in Elizabeth City.
