Women to Watch in the Drone Industry: This Year’s Contest Op…

Nominations are now open for the 3rd annual “Women to Watch in UAS” contest, run by Women and Drones.  The Women to Watch in UAS initiative celebrates successful women in the drone industry from around the world – and highlights what these women have achieved.

It’s no secret that in the drone industry as in the rest of the aerospace industry, women represent a very low percentage of the workforce.  But despite low numbers, women have had an outsized impact in drones – working in all aspects of the industry: as entrepreneurs, racers, engineers, pilots, educators and more.

Women and Drones provides education, resources, and connections for women in our industry.  Through celebrating success stories and honoring leaders in the industry, the site is inspiring women of all ages to participate in the drone industry and see how high they can fly.  (Incidentally, if you have a young woman you’d like to inspire, check out these great children’s books by the team at Women and Drones!)

From now through May 3, submit your nominations to Women and Drones here.  Nominators will select one of five categories for the person they are nominating:

  • Innovation Award
  • Leadership Award
  • Education Award
  • Humanitarian Award (Drones for Good)
  • Entrepreneurial Award

2019 Honorees will be announced during the InterDrone Women In Drones luncheon on Thursday, September 5th.
