Let’s Talk Drones: AUVSI NC Hosts New Initiative for Educati…

If there is one thing that leaders in the drone industry agree upon, it’s the need to bring the drone community together to understand the issues and fly safely.  This Friday, the North Carolina Chapter of the Association for Unmanned Vehicles and Systems International (AUVSI) introduces “Let’s Talk Drones,” a chatroom for unmanned aviators and enthusiasts, to start that conversation.

AUVSI North Carolina, headed by drone industry leader Darshan Divakaran, developed the monthly meeting “for anyone and everyone who want to talk about anything and everything on unmanned systems.”  The virtual public forum will be held on the last Friday of every month, and will provide unmanned aviators, enthusiasts and stakeholders an opportunity to ask questions of some of the leading experts in the field.    “The AUVSI NC team of experts will try their best to answer your questions or find the answers for your questions,” says the Chapter.  “We will also occasionally be inviting other experts as key speakers for the sessions. Each session will have new topics & issues to discuss and is open to everyone.”

The event is free and open to the public.  The inclusive approach – allowing anyone to ask anything – is a great way for the drone community to learn from one another and come together to understand the evolving landscape.  As regulations, applications, hardware and software change, it’s more important than ever for drone organizations like AUVSI to get the word out  – and for the community to have an opportunity to discuss those changes.

The first session of “Let’s Talk Drones” will be held this Friday, May 29th at 4:30pm EST.  In this session, moderators will:

  • Introduce the AUVSI NC Team, and discuss new volunteer opportunities;
  • Announce an upcoming virtual event on June 17th;
  • Discuss current national and global news;
  • Talk about drones and COVID-19;
  • Answer audience questions

(A Zoom or WebEx link will be emailed to all registered attendees 48hrs before the scheduled event.)
