JERUSALEM: The Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) and the Ministry of Energy have announced that three novel energy solutions developed by Israeli companies will be tested.
According to a joint statement released by the Ministry and the IIA on Sunday, the awards are intended to boost the economy and develop Israeli hi-tech in the domains of energy and water, while also addressing the climate crisis and decreasing pollution. The overall subsidy reportedly amounts to 3.3 million shekels (USD 950,000), or up to 50% of the cost of each testing project.
According to the statement, the first technology, developed by the energy storage business Augwind, creates a sustainable energy system that uses clean storage and aids in energy efficiency as well as compressed air delivery to enterprises.
The second project will test a Zooz Power-developed ultra-fast charging system for an electric vehicle based on a charging accelerator, which provides for an additional driving range of around 200 kilometres in just 15 minutes of charging, it said.
The third technology being evaluated, produced by Siasol Eyes, monitors solar panel defects. It is based on a thermographic examination conducted with a drone that flies above solar fields around the country, the report said.
