How long did it take Snap to give up on its selfie drone?

Things have been canceled faster in Silicon Valley, but still, four months isn’t a very long lifespan for new tech.

Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel reportedly announced to employees in a Q&A this week that the company is henceforth halting further development of its selfie drone Pixy. Designed to take off straight out of your hand, Pixy can hover a few feet away and snap photos of you, eliminating the selfie arm look while looking cooler in action than a selfie stick.

According to Gizmodo, a “person familiar with the matter” told The Wall Street Journal that Snap will continue to sell the Pixy units it still has. They’re just not going to make any more of them.
