German UAM-startup Skyroads partners with Supernal

Skyroads (formerly D3 Technologies AG) joins Supernal’s Airspace Management Consortium (the Consortium) to develop the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry’s airspace operating environment.

Munich / Washington, DC, 23 11, 2021 – The German Air Traffic Management startup Skyroads joined Supernal’s, previously the Urban Air Mobility Division of Hyundai Motor Group, Airspace Management Consortium as one of three new members.

As an aviation embedded systems developer, Skyroads provides a continuously evolving software/hardware solution for airspace management and air traffic control. Flight management, aimed at AAM including human transport, which is based on the principles of system-wide information management and positive deterministic control is also part of their system.

“The development of Skyroads is based on a philosophy of interoperability. The system’s openness as well as its Design Assurance Level of Aviation, is a prerequisite for the intermodal UAM ecosystem that professional AAM OEMs like Supernal are asking for. As we share a vision and mindset, we are pleased to partner with Supernal as a member of the consortium“, said Achim Kostron, Chief Commercial Officer , Skyroads.

Since its founding in 2019, Skyroads has built up strategic partnerships with Manta Aircraft, Flynow Aviation, Walle Mobilty, Spleenlabs, CAPS Aviation, Deep Blue Aviation, Amazilia Aerospace, Technical University of Munich (TUM), and Varon Vehicles, among others. In April 2021 the startup became a mastermind for Air Traffic Management as a member of the Canadian Advanced Air Mobility Consortium (CAAM).

Supernal launched the Consortium in June to serve as a resource for the AAM industry and policymakers internationally to shape common operating and design standards that support industry development. Looking ahead, Supernal will work with Consortium members to simulate the operation of UAS Traffic Management (UTM) and AAM network and ultimately flight test Supernal’s concept of operations.

About Skyroads

Skyroads, formerly called D3 Technologies, was founded in July 2019 by CEO Corvin Huber and a diverse team of entrepreneurs, engineers and industry experts who were united by one goal: Make flying accessible for everyone.
The Skyroads System that they are developing enables Advanced Air Mobility to scale safely and efficiently. It automatically manages passenger and cargo drones in urban airspace and as an aggregated platform, it also opens up new opportunities for businesses and service providers.
