Geo-registration software leader Edgybees has been named to Fast Company’s list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2022. The annual list recognizes the businesses making the most significant impact on both the industry and the world as a whole. The list also recognizes 528 organizations across 52 categories. Fast Company is honoring Edgybees’ accomplishments within the public safety sector, with a focus on its application for wildfires and other natural disasters, ranking the company third in the Current Events category.

Edgybees provides geospatial context, corrected navigation, and accurate positioning to full motion aerial video and satellite imagery by leveraging advanced computer vision and machine learning technology. The company’s AI software increases the accuracy of drone video and satellite imagery to within two pixels. Supporting such varied applications as defense and intelligence, emergency response, and commercial sectors, this software aids industry professionals in making critical decisions with unprecedented speed and accuracy. This technology was employed by firefighters to understand the severity of wildfires and enabled them to quickly mobilize resources and manpower. The company is now championing the integration of its life-saving technology into other government sectors that depend on aerial and satellite imagery.

“The Edgybees team is honored to be named to Fast Company’s 50 Most Innovative Companies list,” said Edgybees CEO and Co-Founder Adam Kaplan. “In a dynamic world where unexpected challenges lie around every corner, the ability to provide professionals with accurate and actionable insights has never been more essential. We are proud to be recognized for our work helping emergency responders, which has provided the foundation for supporting other critical drone missions.”

Edgybees has seen tremendous company growth and increasing demand for its innovative solution over the past 18 months. 2021 was a major year for the company, with a $9.5 million Series A Funding round in February, a collaboration with Hood Tech Aero in April to enhance situational awareness for firefighters using the combination of Edgybees’ software and Hood Tech Aero’s advanced sensors, and a partnership with Carbyne in July to improve disaster response by providing video imagery to 911 call centers and first responders in real-time through drone footage.

“The world’s most innovative companies play an essential role in addressing the most pressing issues facing society, whether they’re fighting climate change by spurring decarbonization efforts, ameliorating the strain on supply chains, or helping us reconnect with one another over shared passions,” said Fast Company Deputy Editor David Lidsky.

Fast Company will also host its Most Innovative Companies Summit on April 26–27, coinciding with the issue launch. The virtual event will celebrate the Most Innovative Companies in business, as well as offer an early look at major business trends and an inside look at what it takes to innovate in 2022. Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March/April 2022) is available online here.
