Drone Company Kespry Flying High After Positive Survey

Drone-based aerial intelligence provider Kespry has to be pleased with a recent survey of  its 220 mining and aggregates customers.

The survey reveals 20 percent of the firm’s clients report saving between $50,000 and $100,000 per year using Kespry’s drone-based solutions.

Clients report using Kespry platforms at 3,311 worksites across North America, with 22,987 missions in 2018 alone.

According to a Kespry report:

  • 78 percent said the platforms enable them to more frequently survey their sites on demand;
  • 65 percent stated they gain greater data accuracy while reducing discrepancies and rework;
  • 69 percent survey their sites monthly or weekly;
  • 36 percent engaged in large-scale surveys of 15 or more sites;
  • 55 percent stated they have “achieved safer operations as a result of using the company’s technology.”
  • 82 percent stated “Kespry’s ease of use also played a major factor in their decision to adopt the platform;”
  • 64 percent “selected Kespry for its turnkey hardware guarantee designed to maximize uptime;”
  • 50 percent said they replaced contracted surveyors, measuring wheels, and GPS base and rover technology with Kespry.

“These survey results highlight why our growing customer base continues expanding its usage of Kespry,” said George Mathew, CEO, Kespry.

He added:

“More and more mining and aggregates companies are experiencing tremendous productivity, efficiency and safety benefits as they standardize on Kespry and roll out our platform across multiple sites and geographies. We couldn’t be more pleased with the positive feedback and insight into how Kespry is positively impacting companies’ operations and the day-to-day lives of mining and aggregates employees for the better.”

Kespry announced a new Bring Your Own Drone program in May which includes a platform pricing model designed for multi-site mining companies and large-scale residential and commercial property insurers. The company offers a single fee for its platform, including unlimited access to industry-leading, vertically-integrated applications, the Kespry Cloud and AI and ML-based analytics.

Last year, Kespry launched a platform with high-resolution thermal inspection capabilities for commercial property and industrial facilities.

Earlier that year, the company also announced other enhancements to its line of drone building-inspection products with on-site processing of data, a Virtual Test Square (VTS) to support insurance claims decision-making, and enhanced automated hail detection – all driven by machine learning.
