DJI Drone Conference Airworks Goes Digital

The DJI drone conference, Airworks, will be a virtual event this year.

Airworks has become a major event for the drone industry, as the world’s largest drone manufacturer brings thousands of users together to learn, collaborate, and network.  A major line up of speakers rivals other big conferences, and the DJI user base from police force to recreational flyer looks forward to sneak peeks and company announcements.

This year, it may be harder to meet with colleagues over drinks – but if your budget just doesn’t run to travel, you are in luck.  In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, DJI has announced that Airworks 2020 will be held online: and will be affordable for everyone.  (Check out the Flash Sale on June 8!)

“AirWorks has become a leading event where industry experts and seasoned pilots gather to advance the future of commercial drone technology. While we regret not being able to meet face to face, we are extremely excited about the opportunities that gathering online presents,” says a company announcement.

The DJI drone conference isn’t the first to have to adjust to new realities during the COVID-19 crisis. The FAA, Interdrone, AUVSI, and Commercial UAV Europe have all had to reschedule or reimagine events.

The changes aren’t all bad – lower prices and lack of travel should allow more people to attend.   During last year’s event, “Drones for Good” sessions with DJI personnel and members of the Los Angeles Fire Department; new products and sensor demonstrations; company announcements; great speakers; and expert training contributed to conference densely packed with can’t miss content.  This year, that same content will be offered – with a lot less walking and no line at the coffee counter.
