Cost of Operation: Will the New Yuneec Drone Set the Standar…

Yuneec partnered with native legislation enforcement at this month’s InterDrone convention to show their new H520 drone for accident reconstruction.  While the demonstration was spectacular, it’s the general price of operation which makes Yuneec’s new providing stand out, says Douglas Spotted Eagle – a well known trade chief and Yuneec’s Director of Commercial Business Product Development.

Spotted Eagle’s involvement is an effective signal for the new providing.  A drone pilot, educator and professional media flyer, he has a deep understanding of market necessities – and Yuneec’s new mannequin is an try to fulfill them.  “The H520 is a need-based solution,” says Spotted Eagle.  “It’s based around the enterprise.”

The answer is targeted on four fundamental verticals: first responders, building (orthomapping), inspections,  and broadcast.  And priced beginning at $1999, Spotted Eagle says it gives the performance of a way more costly system.

With a flight endurance of 28 minutes in winds over 35 mph, an interchangeable payload system that they name “hotswap,” and a design with all of the present security options included, it seems to be prefer it.  But it isn’t solely design that brings the new providing into the massive leagues of industrial drones.  DataPilot, the built-in software program and flight planning system, supplies “a one or two button solution that lets me do repeatable missions,” says Spotted Eagle. “Mid-flight, you can bring it down and then resume same flight plan. It’s very efficient and very safe – we built the application with safety as our first and foremost function.”

Spotted Eagle factors out that ease of use and the means to collect constant knowledge are important parts for industrial merchandise – and that enterprise enterprise will select an answer that gives the security and options they want, however will do the math to calculate their return on funding.  In that calculation, Yuneec sees the new answer popping out sturdy.  “With the H520, the cost of operation per hour is dramatically less,” he says.

With many of the options of a costlier enterprise answer, the H520 might be a severe contender: staking a spot in the lower-end prosumer market and taking a bit of the massive enterprise industrial market.
