Amazon to launch drone distributions in California, Texas

(MENAFN) US e-commerce in addition to tech giant Amazon declared on Friday that it is going to shortly begin distributions by drone in the states of California and Texas.

The firm mentioned in a statement last month that it is going to offer drone distributions to customers living in Lockeford, California, and the facility is going to presently be stretched to College Station, Texas.

The firm stated that it joined with Texas A&M University in College Station, which is going to be “at the forefront of the development of drone delivery technology,” College Station Mayor Karl Mooney confirmed in a statement.

Amazon stated that its drones have the ability of delivering packages up to five pounds (2.27 kilograms) in not more than an hour.

They can hover at a maximum speed of 50 miles an hour (80.5 kilometers) and a maximum height of 400 feet (122 meters).
