This year marks the 60th anniversary of the popular Renault 4. Selling upwards of 8 million units in more than 100 countries over a period spanning over 30 years, the 4L is an icon that has seen widespread global success. In celebration of the model’s landmark sixtieth anniversary, Renault, France’s premier automobile brand, has teamed up with TheArsenale, the ground-defying mobility design hub, in order to collaborate in designing the roadway of the future: the sky.

TheArsenale AIR4, with it’s new ‘volante’ version, adds a third dimension to automobile travel that enables it to reach the sky. Much more than a mere concept or prototype, AIR4 is the first commercially available flying French car, and a real-life Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) vehicle that takes inspiration from the Renault 4. The AIR4 is a trailblazing design born out of a unique combination of automotive passion, engineering ingenuity and untethered imagination. The AIR4 is designed, engineered, and assembled entirely in France, in the heart of Europe’s first technology park in Sophia Antipolis, on the Côte d’Azur.

This Flying Car is Actually For Sale

After completing a test flight from Monaco’s heliport, an event which will be filmed as a part part of a TV documentary on the project, the AIR4 will be available for purchase online on Black Friday, 26 November 2021, on TheArsenale.com. The AIR4 is set at a retail price of 4 million euros, and will be available for purchase in Bitcoin.
